Besh o droM (Budapest/Hungary)
Concert

They call themselves a futuristic urban wedding band. Besh o droM, a ten-piece electro-acoustic band, play at a speed to rival Fanfare Ciocarlia and with a jazzy unconventionality that reminds of the Willelm Breuker Collective. They mix turntables and club culture with the familiar sounds of the cimbalom and the gypsy violin, jazz improvisation and Balkan wind instruments with funky grooves to produce a vital musical high-level chaos. In the language of gypsies Besh o droM means something like sitting on the street. It can also mean going your own way, just keeping on going. Or in a Hungarian play on words it can even mean I`m rolling. Whatever: world music at its best - an absolute must. Don`t forget your dancing shoes. In fact, two pairs mightn`t be a bad idea.
