Cie Voix Off- Damien Bouvet (Neuvy Deux-Clochers/France)
FiniFini
Visual theatre
German Première

Company
Damien Bouvet studied acting at the Conservatoire National d’Art Dramatique in Lyon, he has worked with numerous directors, amongst others Philippe Genty and Jorge Pico. In 1992 he founded the Compagnie VOIX-OFF. He then began his quest to come up with a very special character of clown which he has since developed in his productions for children and adults.

Performance
I am dead. The little pieces of my skull are placed carefully on white cotton wool. Marylin, the clown who could be from a Beckett play or a Buster Keaton movie is pulling the threads of time: in a heavy dressing gown and dowdy slippers. His transformations are surprising but seem to follow an internal logic. Whether as a lascivious diva, clumsy August or bird of paradise, his numbers are little end games, now tender and full of touching poetry, now disturbing, wild, unpredictable and animalistic. Damien Bouvet, highly focused on working with the body, on corporeality, jumbles up all the stereotypes of someone expected to make everybody laugh and circles around universal questions of life and death.
