Sound Performance

Company
Samuel Stoll, born in 1979, is a professional horn player who works as a freelance musician and performer. He is a regular guest at events including Klangforum Wien, performances of the chamber music ensemble Neue Musik Berlin and the Collegium Novum Zürich. He is also a founding member of Weitwinkel (Association for Contemporary Music Theatre).

Performance
Brass music as the primordial scream, but also as the sheer despair of a man all too frequently thwarted in the pursuit and display of his masculinity. During the quadraphonic sound performance with extreme vocals, various water hoses and a mutant Wagner tuba, almost orgiastic sounds burst forth like an explosion, erupting in a bellowing, groaning, blubbering, pumping soundscape. And all of a sudden we find ourselves empathising with the man in brass.
