Compagnie Pseudonymo (Reims/France)
Imomushi
Visual Theatre
German Première

Company
Compagnie Pseudonymo was founded by David G. Moab in 1998, who studied Puppetry in Charleville-Mèzières. His productions are mostly inspired by short stories or novellas dealing with supernatural phenomena as a source of magic and illusion. Here the literary material is a story of the same title by Ranpo Edogawa (1894-1965), one of the most popular crime writers in Japan.

Performance
A war veteran, his wife and a mysterious general. All three are part of a sinister power game in which space and time become blurred. Imomushi is the vision of a trauma and of coming to terms with it. A catharsis. In an extreme and harrowing manner, puppets and humans explore the limits of the physical and the comprehensible. This creates stunning, nightmarish and also lyrical images of fear, suffering and guilt, as well as desire and seduction.
