Äl Jawala were one of the first bands to fuse club beats with hip-hop and wild, oriental brass sets. In the meantime, they play on concert stages all over Europe, have produced 11 albums and call their style “Balkan big beats” – a mixture of Balkan soul, dance beats and modern klezmer. Their compositions range from enigmatic-urban to earthy and heavy, all the way to fast-paced songs.
