Tafelmusik

schindelkilliusdutschke

Berlin/Germany

Company
Tobias Dutschke, Rainer Killius and Volker Schindel are musicians who have been working in the above-named trio formation since 2003. Tafelmusik (Table Music) is an excerpt from their 2005 production Aus der Kammer Musik Theater which won the Audience Favourite Award in the same year at the Sophiensaele’s 100° Festival.

Performance
The rattling of the mill by the brawling brook provides the background music for the Struwwelpeter ritual or the Fidgety Philipp monologue. Three chamber musicians and absurd performers by the names of Konrad, Kaspar and Philipp deploy basic foods such as flour and spaghetti, alongside a table, chairs and a frying pan to transform German popular songs and German fairy tales into a sophisticated and musical slapstick drama with subtle humour.
