RussiaThe four women that make up the ethno-rock band Iva Nova combine traditional Russian styles of music with a mix of ska, punk, rock and jazz. The result is a set of wild, fast, and highly danceable songs with a big dose of feminine radiance – intense, powerful and full of energy. And of course, they couldn’t possibly do without a bayan, the button accordion typical of Russian folk music. As the Russian edition of ‘Rolling Stone’ has put it: ‘Iva Nova is the coolest Russian female band.’
