Object Theatre with Live Music, 70 minutes, nonverbal. Involves dust.
A room that seems to be stuck in a state of decay. Crumbled debris lies on the floor, the wallpaper is peeling off the walls in slow motion. There are traces of a past life: a mattress, a dripping sink. Next to the rattly entrance door, a person cowers, almost entirely immobile, like the relic of a lost time. Disintegration and decay as conditions, but also as spaces for reflection and new beginnings. ‘Dust’ is a kind of theatrical vanitas, a performative meditation on transience, transformation and beauty – a mix of object theatre, visual arts and music, the sound of which shifts between sound art and electronic incantation.
Since 2007, Stuttgart-based company O-Team has been developing interdisciplinary projects that move between performance, object theatre and visual theatre. Based in the Kunstverein Wagenhalle, the ensemble creates visually stunning productions that captivate audiences with their lavish stage design and distinctive sound concepts. With over thirty productions to its name, the multidisciplinary team regularly appears at international festivals. In cooperation with local and global partners, the O-Team creates spaces for scenic reflection and theatrical rituals that both invite and challenge their audiences. The production ‘Dust’ has been nominated for the 2026 German Theatre Award DER FAUST.
