Welcome on board. EXIT
is based on fragments of fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen, like the futuristic story In a Thousand Years in which he foretells the invention of the aeroplane. The flying machine in this case is rebellious and very much has a mind of its own. Meanwhile, we encounter a mayfly blustering about the transience of life, an animated moon and quarrelsome flowers. This aerial show descends into chaos, with puppetry and object theatre alternating with shadow play, accentuated by a soundscape of various objects, like sections of an orchestra which, alongside live folk and electro music, dominate the piece.
Fekete Seretlek combines motifs from world music with object theatre, thereby creating its own inimitable theatrical compositions. The Czech ensemble began as a trio in 2004, with variations on musical-performative folk theatre, and has gone on to perform at diverse music and theatre festivals all over Europe. The group currently comprises six musicians and actors, all graduates of the Prague Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU). They work in close collaboration with the production company Studio Damúza, which specialises in supporting DAMU students and graduates.
